Pre-Registration:

Please confirm the grade and the exam period with your teacher. Check that you are on his/her list of students recommended for the exam.

Check with your teacher on the 03 repertoire pieces and the technical work that the candidate will play.

Once this is confirmed, you will receive a message from Wolfgang to register.

Registration:

You would have received a message from Wolfgang for registration.

This message will have a link and password to Wolfgang’s exam registration page.

Please fill up the form and make payment as requested so that we can confirm the registration.

Once registration has been made, you will hear from us via email to double confirm your particulars and details.

Following this, an email from Trinity College London will be sent to the email that you used to register within a month.

This email from Trinity will include the link and login details to the Trinity Learning Portal.

Book my Piano Accompaniment Coaching Package:

A message will be sent to you by Wolfgang approximately one and a half weeks after confirmation of registration. The message will contain either a confirmation on the dates and times or a link.

Should you receive a link, please select and sign up for the appropriate grade piano accompaniment coaching session in the Wolfgang registration page.

The students are in classes of their grade as they will learn from listening to their classmates of the same grades.

[Important] Book early to confirm your slot as each time slot has limited capacity.

FAQ(s):

Q: I cannot make it for any of the mentioned time slots, can I arrange a separate time slot?
A: The pre-booked accompaniment coaching sessions cannot be changed. You can arrange for individual piano accompaniment sessions, at additional cost.

Piano Accompaniment Coaching Package:

The Violin/Cello/Viola candidate needs accompaniment with the pianist for the exam.

The Wolfgang 3+2 Piano Accompaniment Exam coaching package offers 3 piano accompaniment coaching sessions, 1 mock exam recording session and 1 exam recording session at our studio with the pianist.

The 3 coaching sessions is for Ensemble coaching with the pianist, establishing rhythm and intonation. The Coach will send reviews of their performances to their Teachers. Technical issues will be managed by their respective Teachers.

FAQ(s):

Q: Can parents sit in the session(s)?
A: Parents will not be sitting in the session(s).

Q: Can the session(s) be recorded?
A: The Coach will record the students who need attention on ensemble.

Q: Will the candidate’s Teacher be present in the session(s)?
No, they will not be in the session. A Coach will be present in the sessions.

Q: Where will the session(s) be conducted?
The default location the sessions will be conducted at will be The Centrepoint, unless specified otherwise.

The Recording of the Exam:

Please come for the Exam recording well prepared.

Candidate will be attired appropriately.
(As in concert)

Bring the Original scores (Must be in shot when filming)
(Studio has the standard exam repertoire, bring your own for alternative pieces)

Prepare your recording equipment.

The iPhone is recommended. It is an option to attach a microphone.

Prepare your camera so that both hands of the candidate are in full view.

Start the Recording.

The Technical Work List has to be flashed in view of the camera.

The candidate will start playing his/her scales.

The candidate will cue the pianist, and start playing the 03 pieces in the order he/she selected.

He/She can play without a mask.
(In the event of Covid-19 restrictions, He/She will play with a mask)

He/She ends with an acknowledgement bow.

This must all be done in one continuous take.
(No pause in the recording in between)

Send the exam recording to the Wolfgang Exam Line (9727 0138). It will be sent to the candidate’s Teacher for advise and choice.

Q: What equipment is required for the recording?
A: An iPhone is recommended. Options of other machines or microphone is acceptable.

Q: Who will be the one doing the recording?
A: The candidates are to arrange his/her own recording personnel.

Submitting the online exam:

When your final recording is ready, prepare to submit for the exam.

View your courses on the homepage.

Click on your course title link.
(Classical and Jazz)

Download and complete the submission information form.
(Alternatively, you can find the Non-Fillable Form and/or Sample Form below)

Click on the Confirmation of Identity under Identity Verification.

Click on upload your exam performance video under Exam Performance Upload.

Upload your video at the top area under File Submissions.

Upload your Submission Information Form and any other supporting documents under File Submissions(2).

Supporting documents include: Submission Information Form, scan of each score with cover of original publication.

Click Save Changes.

[Optional] Double check your submissions by downloading them again under Submission Status.

[Important] Only click on Submit assignment once you are confident that everything is in order.
(There are no retractions after submission.)

[Important] Submit assignment earlier than the deadline.
(This is to avoid congestion in the server from other submissions which may result in your submission not going through.)

Q: Do I need to attach the scan of the scales?
A: You do not need to attach the scan of the selected Scales.

Q: Where can I get the original publication?
A: Studio will provide standard exam repertoire. For alternative pieces, please bring your own.

Results:

Login into the Trinity Learning Portal.

View Courses.

Click on your course title link.

Final Grade Result will be shown at the bottom of the page.

Click on upload your exam performance video under Exam Performance Upload.

View Feedback and marks underneath the Submission Status.

[Important] Send your results, including marks and comments to the Wolfgang Exam Line (9727 0138) for Teacher’s review and archiving.

Q: When will I receive the results?
A: There is no fixed timeline at the moment. You will generally receive it between 01 week to 01 month.

Q: How do I get the Examination Certificate?
A: The certificate will be be sent from Trinity to the Studio. You can collect it at your respective branches once you have received an update.

(For other users, you will use the same account for subsequent exam bookings.)

[Important] If you are a parent or guardian, please use the candidate’s name (the name that you would like to appear on the certificate) when creating the account so that future exam entries are made in the correct name.

Prepare your camera so that both hands of the candidate are in full view.

Start the Recording.

The candidate will show their photo ID to the camera for 5 seconds and then show their face to the camera for 5 seconds.

An announcement will be made as per the board’s instruction.
(The Parent should do the announcement where possible)

A: If the piece is not part of the ABRSM repertoire list, it will be considered as Own Choice (OC). You will have to show the score for any OC piece.

Submitting the online exam:

When your final recording is ready, prepare to submit for the exam.

Login to the ABRSM portal.

Under the top panel, click on SUBMIT RECORDINGS.

Select the exam for which you would like to submit the recording and click continue.

Complete the declaration form.
(for candidates under 18, 02 boxes will appear on the left of the page. The responsible adult will input their name and relationship to the candidate in the boxes accordingly.)

List of everyone present in the room:

Click on Upload recording.

Click on Browse and locate the candidate’s recording and click open.

Results:

An email from ABRSM will be sent to notify when the exam results and mark form are available to view.

Login into the ABRSM Portal.

View Dashboard.

View My previous exams section.

Download the mark forms to view results.

[Important] Send your results, including marks and comments to the Wolfgang Exam Line (9727 0138) for Teacher’s review and archiving.
